Two Mountains

I saw two mountains facing each other Separated by a quick flowing river One made of rock hard stone Evident that its cracks had grown Other one of soft moist ground Whose slopes flew like the curves of the gown Both face the same rain and hail Yet one recovers without leaving a trail One is lush green, cool and sweet From far away looks like an art complete One is a harsh canvas with patches of yellow Like a barren vast meadow So different yet so same Unchanged no matter what came So close yet so far apart Yet their journey has no end, just a start
