Ocean Erratic

The ocean seems very static Just some waves traversing But deep within its very erratic No one knows what's occurring How do birds that fly in the sky Find out what's deep within What if the surface lies? And it's just a skin A skin like men's words shielding their hearts Like an orange's peel covering the fruit How will we know which strings are in the lute? Who knows if the seal is final? Or just another layer What if the creature act tribal And their lies darkness' lair What if there is no seal And the ocean is static Do you believe your senses? Or consider it erratic Do you trust your senses? Or your idea of the world Does rationality answer your doubts? Or your mind ends up curled How many layers does the ocean possess? Where is the sea floor? What if it's all a mess Invisible to those on the seashore We might never be certain That's what hiding behind the curtain But both of us know, you and me There is more to truth than we see
