Endless Moon

I saw the moon, round and bright Such lustrous and whole, a marvellous sight I grew captive of its ambient shine So I yielded, and followed the crescent divine No matter where I go the moon stays So full of habit, a marvel to gaze The moon resurrects after every dozen phases Feels like the valleys are singing its praises I reach for the moon with my bare hands I followed the moon through the unforgiving sands Still the moon lies far from reach No matter I climb how many peaks I then realised my journey was a lie Just an endless quest till I die I realised that of all I could see Everything I could not decree
