Caged Bird
Look at the caged bird's plight
Look how the bars restrict flight
One may say the cage is for protection
It's a way to portray affection
After all, during the dark night
He may become, a hunter's delight
But one asks in self introspection
Is the bird treated like an infection?
What is the life of the caged bird?
Is it better than its life deferred?
Is freedom not a need of life?
Is it truly a dual edged knife?
But who asks the bird who is chained
The one whose life is constrained
But we must ask the one's with the key
Where is our cage! Can we foresee?
