A Rose in the Garden
I walk in the garden
Treading slowly on the pathway
I saw a rose blooming under the Sun
The wind making it sway
I saw the rosy petals, deep and red
I saw sharp thorns, glooming and wounding
Observed the plant, then I said
I know what it takes for the bloom to spring
I saw the rose as beauty, as it truly was
While keeping the petals and thorns in mind
I continued walking on the cool wet grass
As I walked I let the rose left behind
I didn't pluck the beautiful rose
For I could truly see its beauty
I realised that there is more than it shows
As I walked on, we remained both free
