A Rose in the Garden

I walk in the garden Treading slowly on the pathway I saw a rose blooming under the Sun The wind making it sway I saw the rosy petals, deep and red I saw sharp thorns, glooming and wounding Observed the plant, then I said I know what it takes for the bloom to spring I saw the rose as beauty, as it truly was While keeping the petals and thorns in mind I continued walking on the cool wet grass As I walked I let the rose left behind I didn't pluck the beautiful rose For I could truly see its beauty I realised that there is more than it shows As I walked on, we remained both free
