A Change of Seasons
I looked at my creaky calendar
While Burning in the humid heat
Longing for the days to be slender
Feeling suffocated, strangled with defeat
I yearned for these days to end
I thought of the cool winter setting in
I thought of the struggles that the cold could mend
At last the cool cold finally came
The days began to get shorter
There started to be less light
Warmth felt like an opaque border
It becomes difficult to pass through
I tried to flee the bitter heat
But got trapped by the condescending cold
I realised that even though change sounds sweet
Its direction must never be uncontrolled
